NASCAR. Boogty Boogty Boogty, let’s go racing! Drivers, start your engines! Some of the most famous and most exciting words for NASCAR fans everywhere. This weekend I had the amazing experience of attending a live race in Darlington, South Carolina. Initially, when you thing of driving a car around in a circle for 3 hours isn’t considered a sport. However, experiencing this event first hand gave me insight to what really happens and how much athleticism it takes to drive a car at high rates of speed. The drivers not only have to work out and be in great physical shape, but they have to undergo hours of constant turning and sweating while sitting in a vehicle. They are dressed from head to toe in safety equipment in case their car crashes and fire starts and racing season is all summer long. We all know that games on the court and field have a lot of strategy and racing is ALL strategy. Racing around without any kind of mirrors and knowing when to pass someone, slow down or speed up as well as strategy in when to pit to your crew are all managed and are key to running a successful race.
